Sebring Art & Culture Tours to be held Nov. 5-6
SEBRING, Fla. (Oct. 21, 2016) – To celebrate a weekend of Highlands County art and culture, the Highlands County Tourism Development Council (TDC) is hosting two Art & Culture tours on Nov. 5-6 to coordinate with the 50th Annual Highlands Fine Arts Festival held the same weekend.
“The 50th annual festival is quite an accomplishment and the Highlands Art League has expanded the festival to two days and enhanced it with a variety of live entertainment,” said Cindy Garren, TDC Member and director of cultural programs for South Florida State College. “We encourage Highlands County visitors to hop on board the bus, tour some of our arts venues and enjoy some cultural gems.”
On Saturday, Nov. 5, the bus will depart at 1:00 PM and travel to Avon Park with stops at the Museum of Florida Art & Culture (MOFAC), the Alan Jay Wildstein Performing Arts Center, Maxwell Groves and the Peter Powell Roberts Museum. On Sunday, Nov. 6, the bus will depart at Noon with visits to Highlands Hammock State Park and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Museum, and then visit the Lake Placid Murals.
Online registration is encouraged, as seats are limited. The tours are free and will depart from the Yellow House Gallery & Gift Shop (1989 Lakeview Drive, Sebring). Registration is available at http://tinyurl.com/gprr7f6 or www.HighlandsArtLeague.org on the Festival page.
